Alexandro
Hello, I have a 1 year old MGE Ellipse Max 600 which was working fine. Today I've noticed some strange reports regarding LOADPCT, BCHARGE and TIMELEFT. They all report zeroes. Is it a sign that my battery is already dead and need a replacement or is it something related to the plugin itself? I am using Unraid 5.0 and the unmenu UPS plugin. Thanks (from /sbin/apcaccess status) APC : 001,029,0711 DATE : Mon Mar 03 22:07:28 EET 2014 HOSTNAME : UNRAID RELEASE : 3.14.3 VERSION : 3.14.3 (20 January 2008) slackware UPSNAME : UNRAID CABLE : Custom Cable Smart MODEL : USB UPS Driver UPSMODE : Stand Alone STARTTIME: Mon Mar 03 20:04:25 EET 2014 STATUS : ONLINE LOADPCT : 0.0 Percent Load Capacity BCHARGE : 000.0 Percent TIMELEFT : 0.0 Minutes MBATTCHG : 10 Percent MINTIMEL : 5 Minutes MAXTIME : 300 Seconds OUTPUTV : 000.0 Volts DWAKE : 000 Seconds LOTRANS : 000.0 Volts HITRANS : 000.0 Volts ALARMDEL : Always NUMXFERS : 0 TONBATT : 0 seconds CUMONBATT: 0 seconds XOFFBATT : N/A STATFLAG : 0x07000008 Status Flag SERIALNO : APCMODEL : END APC : Mon Mar 03 22:08:25 EET 2014 Quote Link to comment
sureguy
You could unmount your array and pull the plug on the ups to see what happens. A safer thing to do would be to shut down unraid, unplug the server from the UPS and plug a lamp in, then unplug the ups and see what happens. Quote Link to comment
DaleWilliams
Agreed. The battery looks very dead from the status report. Its possible that the UPS circuitry has somehow stopped charging and the battery could hold a charge, but I'd bet that the battery is several years old and no longer chargeable. Try the lamp test. Replacement batteries are much cheaper than a new UPS. Quote Link to comment
Alexandro
Thank you all. Will perform the test and will report later. Quote Link to comment
