March 4, 201412 yr I'm having a slight problem with the gui and hiding my shares... After setting a share as hidden in the gui end up with a gui that isn't working and the share still isn't hidden... I then have to reboot the machine to get the gui to work again. Can anyone tell me if there is a way I can set a share to be hidden via the terminal? thanks
March 4, 201412 yr If you can reproduce the "hanging" of the GUI, you should open a ticket with limetech. But only if you're on stock unraid - no plugins. The smb shares config is stored on the usb stick. Can't check the exact location at the moment though. Probably it's stored in the config folder. You might change the values there (use a nix compatible editor!). Then you probably need to restart the samba server.
March 4, 201412 yr Author Thanks I didn't notice the shares folder inside the config directory. Just edited the shareExport="e" to "eh" in the relevant share's config file I found the following in my syslog is what I assume is related to the GUI hanging.. Mar 4 09:53:43 Tower emhttp: shareSecurity not found (Other emhttp) Mar 4 09:53:43 Tower kernel: emhttp[1315]: segfault at 0 ip 40233760 sp bfbb3620 error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[401ba000+15c000] (Errors) Mar 4 09:54:16 Tower kernel: NTFS driver 2.1.30 [Flags: R/W MODULE]. (System) I am using Active directory and I'm wondering if the reason it might be hanging can't be related to that?
March 4, 201412 yr Sorry, but I can't help you with the hanging GUI. If you can reproduce that easily, then it's best you open a ticket. Or wait, until somebody more knowledgeable chimes in.
March 4, 201412 yr LimeTech has a thread running for 'Active Directory'. I haven't seen a posting for a couple of months, but you might check that for clues.
March 4, 201412 yr Just read this in the changelog for v6 beta4 - emhttp: fixed bug where changing SMB export setting in Active Directory mode caused crash This may be a bug in v5 also. Although we don't know what version you're running... If you're on v5 then please report this to limetech to get it fixed in the next update!
March 5, 201412 yr Author I'm using v5. How do I report the bug to limetech? I attached my syslog syslog140305.txt
March 5, 201412 yr Not much in the syslog. Don't use AD myself, but I think Fireball3 may be right. Email [email protected] and direct him to this thread.
