Mover clobbering cache only share

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a cache only share (set to cache only, as well as excluding all disks) that contains my sab/nzbdrone, etc.  Something seems to be wrong, as every morning, my apps are all broken, and seem to be in a partial state of moving to a user share with the same name.  I have yet to dig in deep (at work at the moment), but I was wondering if I am missing something simple that would prevent this from happening.  I am on 5.0.5, so I have read that I dont need to prepend a "." to the directory name, so I have not done that yet.

Anything obvious, setting-wise, that I might be missing?  Thanks in advance.  Happy to post a syslog later today if needed.

As you said, with a cache-only share it is not necessary to prepend a '.' It's also not necessary to exclude or include any disks with a cache-only share. I wonder if anyone has ever tried it that way.

It may be that you don't actually have your apps configured to use the share. See this post and compare with how you have your apps configured.

Post a complete syslog, one that includes the timeframe of the mover, 3:40 am unless you have changed it. And a screenshot of the cache-only share page.

I had the same problem and may be able to pull a syslog later. Cache only share was moving my virtual machine folder. I just moved it off the cache drive to an external disk.

Here's a screenshot and a truncated syslog showing the start of the mover on the apps share, and the end of it.  Thanks!

You might just try clearing the excluded disks. It is not necessary. I don't know if anyone has ever tested it the way you have it configured.

More likely you have something wrong with plugins or something. A complete syslog please.

PM sent with full syslog.

For now, I've stopped my shares from using cache, and set the mover to monthly.  After rebuilding sab/drone/couch 3 days in a row, I'm gonna take the easy road for now.  :)

Replied to your PM. Basically you have the same problem with your plugin settings as the user I was helping in the other post I linked you to above.
