March 5, 201412 yr I've had unRaid 4.3 running for 6 yrs flawlessly as my NAS. I'd like to upgrade to the newest stable version (5.0.5). I had read somewhere that I had to upgrade to 4.7 first. Could someone detail or point me to concise steps I would need to take to complete this upgrade successfully? I am not highly technical.
March 5, 201412 yr Steps are pretty easy and straightforward. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_Instructions Downloads can be found here. But you will need to email to get 4.7 first. If you require a previous release, please send a request to [email protected].

Also, will a move from 4.3 to 5.0 improve performance issues? Finally, where would I find specific instructions on how to run plex media server directly on the unraid media server after I get to the newest version?

March 5, 201412 yr Author Sorry, but I still don't see an email address to email for 4.7 there. As for performance issues, yes what I see is the following: 1. long time to spin up drives from stopped. 2. occasionally I have some folders/files that I cannot delete, and the system says I don't have the required permissions to delete them. Other than that, it would be good to run plex from it as then I could keep my desktop PC powered off.
