afkrejci90
I've recently setup an unraid server. I am trying to setup unmenu but I don't get further than the main page for unmenu. The install seems like it has worked but when I click on anything else from the main page its always unavailable. What could be my issue? Quote Link to comment
itimpi
What URL are you using to get to the first page in unMenu? Your symptoms suggest that you may have got to the first page by IP address, but that subsequent pages are being addressed by the server name, and your router (or DNS server) is not recognizing that name to convert it to an IP address. afkrejci90
Just tried replacing the name with the actual IP and voila, it worked. Can't believe it was that simple. Now how can I configure my router to recognize the name of the server instead of inserting the IP for every page? In my DHCP table it shows the name of the server along with the IP. Im using a Linksys WRT310Nv2 router. Quote Link to comment
dgaschk
Ask in the unmenu forum. Quote Link to comment
DaleWilliams
oh....sorry I can't remember the details...Isn't this just 'hosts'? I think you can edit the 'hosts' file on your PC. There's a way to do it on the Mac, too. You only do it once...you put a line in 'hosts' that says, "192.168.1.88 tower" (for example.) hosts gets used during domain name resolution ahead of your ISP's DNS. Quote Link to comment
