January 20, 200917 yr After an attempt to make an UnRAID box using the Atom230 (I had a bad SATA controller), I've decided to get a more robust motherboard. Newegg has the Foxconn X38A on sale for $99 after rebate (coupon code "EMCABCABA" needed). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186134&Tpk=x38a It has: X38 north bridge (can't find much here on that) ICH9R south bridge DDR2 and DDR3 support (I plan on DDR2 as its cheaper for now) Dual GigE (Realtek® RTL8111B and RTL8110SC, the first is listed on the hardware compatibility page) 6 SATA 3 x PCIe x16 2 x PCIe x1 2 x PCI Any thoughts on this?
January 22, 200917 yr Specs look good, appears to use supported chipsets, but no promises until someone tests it.
