March 12, 201412 yr Running unraid 5.0.5 for a few weeks no issues. Added a few new drives this past weekend. no issues clearing and formatting. but the issues start when i do a parity check. i get a ton of errors in the new disc added. there is no data on disc. Then the disc goes disabled. disc is fine i have checked. i have tried redoing my usb full new software. changing power cables and sata cables. always the same drives had to save in 3 files. .txt was to large syslog1.pdf
March 12, 201412 yr syslog is text and it zips very nicely. Please zip it and repost as one file. I say this because we may also be asking for smart test results and/or preclear logs and we don't want to wade through a half dozen pdfs. Why did you do pdf for a simple text file?
March 12, 201412 yr i had almost the same problem. i was using a pci-express 8x raid-controller on a 16x bus (4x mode). my problems where gone when i switched the card to al 16x bus (16x mode)

March 12, 201412 yr There are multiple drives reporting errors so I'm thinking a controller problem as well. Which drive is disabled? You said no problem clearing. Do you mean you precleared or did you let unRAID do the clearing after you added the disks? If you did preclear, post the preclear logs. There are a number of additional problems in your syslog, probably not relevant to your OP, but should be dealt with ASAP: Your flash drive is corrupt. Put it in your PC and run checkdisk on it (or Disk Utility if Mac). Simplefeatures is not compatible with 5.0.5. Search for Dynamix. It is the replacement for simplefeatures. You are also apparently trying to load limetech's new webGUI. It is not loading anyway because the .plg file is empty, probably because your flash drive cannot be written due to corruption. You can only have one webGUI, either Dynamix or the new limetech webGUI. Are simplefeatures and Plex your only addons?

It can help discover and even fix some problems with a new disk. Many people have had issues with brand new disks that were discovered with preclear and returned the drives before they had a chance to cause any problems with their array. I am using Dynamix, not so much for the appearance, but because of the extra features it gives. It really is very similar to simplefeatures. Since you don't have any data on the new disks you might just remove them and do a New Config to get your array back to stable and protected. Then you can preclear the new disks and maybe just add one at a time. When you add a disk that has already been cleared you don't have to rebuild parity. To get a syslog, see here

March 15, 201412 yr Author seems to be working correctly. Just doing parity rebuild/check now. its going really slow. (13mb/s) When finished will clear in preclear the 3 new drives i added when problems starts.

March 21, 201412 yr Author everything seemed to be good. did pre clear no issues passed. added dis(replacing old smaller one) disk is now disabled seems to be orignal problem syslog4.txt.zip
