Is anyone running this fork of SickBeard or would anyone be interested in working through getting it working with unRAID?  I installed python 2.7 and newer version of cheetah to test, didn't get far (couldn't start sickbeard), missing hashes etc.  But will still work on it.

It is constantly being worked on and seems to have a lot of developers working on it.... The database it uses is NOT compatible with old database. So you need to re-configure all the settings and re-add all your TV shows.

 

I think it is awesome.

I use the mr-orange branch with influencers plugin, I just use the custom github and branch in the settings to get the version I want, no need for a new plugin

Because there are some older shows I can't find old seasons on Usenet and I use torrents to fill Phile user requests

 

You tried the new Phile? Been benchmarking it but hard to get everyone to hammer on it since they don't check emails. Ha

Sickbeard community development leaves alot to be desired:

they need to stop and work solely on merging all this in with some overiding master plan

Swapped out repo for Mr. Orange this evening and everything is going well.

 

Experiencing a few issues with things not extracting quite properly but overall a pretty decent replacement.

i wanted to try the mr-orage fork without loosing my existing db or library. and didnt feel like starting from sratch.

so i grabbed influencers unplugged SB and modified it to install as sickbeard2 and they can co-exist beside infuencers original SB.

here is the plg if anyone else wants to try.

 

by no means am i an expert and i take no responsibilities if it doesnt work for you or breaks something

 

now that that's out of the way.

install the plg as usual and when you setup your NEW install directories, use different port and directory location from your original SB install. and use this under the custom github

new TPB SB install is under /mnt/cache/apps/sickbeard2/install -- port 4446

i've just added another directory under my existing tv shows folder called test and tried adding two shows for testing purposes there and sure enough it deleted the old episodes that were in there before.

i do not think this has anything to do with me as it happened to the other person in the different thread, i just luckily saw it before adding my tv library folder to ths TPB SB.

to get around this, i've just created another category under sab called TV2 and TPB SB tags shows as TV2 when fetching and no more issues.

 

example, my old SB was under \\Unraid\Videos\TV Shows

new TPB SB is under \\Unraid\Videos\TV Shows\Test

For me best, support many torrent trackers and nice designe + subtitles downloading

I use the mr-orange fork...although, I couldn't get it to download subtitles with this french show i grabbed called "The Returned". I wasn't sure what the problem was, but the subtitle feature did not work at all.

 

Not a big deal, XBMC can also grab the subs for me.

Sorry to dig up a rather old thread, but I'm also trying to install junalmeida's sickbeard fork as mr-orange's isn't available anymore.

 

Am still getting the no pid created Ok error though manually starting from command line give no errors.

 

Just managed to get it working.

 

If anyone is interested, what I did:

 

1) Offcourse first installed Python 2.7.3 through unMenu.

 

2) Installed sickbeard plugin, advanced settings, other github set to https://github.com/junalmeida/Sick-Beard

 

Tried starting manually through command line. Result: complained about no six module installed.

 

3) Installed pip, run get-pip.py and the following command to install missing modules:

 

pip install six babelfish requests enzyme guessit chardet pysrt subliminal

 

Tried starting manually with same command as before:

 

sudo -u nobody python /downloads/apps/sickbeard/SickBeard.py --daemon --port=8081 --datadir /downloads/apps/sickbeard/data --pidfile=/var/run/sickbeard/sickbeard.pid

 

Result: Your config version (6) has been incremented past what this version of Sick Beard supports (5).

If you have used other forks or a newer version of Sick Beard, your config file may be unusable due to their modifications.

 

That config was probably leftover from previous installs. Renamed config.ini to config.ini.bak in sickbeard folder, retried starting manually and am in business.

+1 for sickrage. Just use PhAzE's sickbeard_alt plugin and set it to sickrage's github. Easy installation and updatable that way...! Works like a charm.
