Error in sys log

Featured Replies

I'm getting the following error message:

Mar 17 15:26:34 Tower kernel: REISERFS warning: reiserfs-5090 is_tree_node: node level 968 does not match to the expected one 2

Mar 17 15:26:34 Tower kernel: REISERFS error (device md5): vs-5150 search_by_key: invalid format found in block 221531332. Fsck?

Anyone?  Otherwise my system seems fine. I ran a short smart test on the disk and the result shows no errors.

You've got a problem. (which you realize. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of info provided to help you fix it.)

So here are my well-intentioned suggestions:

0. DO NOT WRITE TO THE ARRAY until the problem is solved...

1. You should save your complete SYSLOG and post it.

Do it now before you powerdown and it might still have the event that caused the failure.

2. Run a complete set of SMART reports

3. Assuming your harddrives pass the SMART tests, then you've probably got file system corruption.

If its just a little bit, its probably recoverable.

Post back if you need help...but include the syslog, please.
