January 21, 200917 yr I'm doing a fresh install of unRAID to a full slackware distro (12.2) in order to use 4.4.2 (I was on 4.3.3) I followed my previous instructions in the wiki http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installing_unRAID_on_a_full_Slackware_distro#Prerequisites_and_preparation But when I launch emhttp (4.4.2) it can't find the flash GUI and shows as unregistered. If I kill it, and launch emhttp from 4.3.3, it works fine. I checked all the usual stuff (label on flash, mounting of the flash, permissions, etc). Really, it can't be that since /unraid433/emhttp works, and when I kill it, and then run /unraid422/emhttp, it shows up unregistered. Only hint in syslog is this message: emhttp: find_flash_dir: readlink: Invalid argument Suggestions?
January 21, 200917 yr My suggestion is (always) to mail Tom. After all, he keeps unRAID soooo thin because he wants less support issues. This is out of his standard system, sure, but the least he can do after all the (free) help you give to his (commercial) product, is to let you know what could have changed between the two builds. Yes I am known to be harsh, but I try to be just too (and to justify my judging I take care to judge myself first - as ancient Greeks suggested).
January 21, 200917 yr Author Nah... if I open the hood and muck with someone else's product and violate the warranty, I'm not gonna bug the developer with a support ticket. Besides -- that's cheating.
January 21, 200917 yr Yeah right. Cheating is that you will manage to sell a few unRAID licenses (I am sure your development will do that as a side effect) and get nothing for it. I am entitled to a personal opinion ain't I?
January 21, 200917 yr Author It looks like unRAID distro uses samba Version 3.2.3... and slack 12.2 bundles Version 3.2.5. So that may be a regression error.
