March 18, 201412 yr I'm excited to learn about the new xen functionality with Unraid and I was wondering if there has been an investigation into existing open source tools to manage virtualization environments. One of those tools that seems to be generating a ton of interest is OpenStack. Has this been looked into as a way to simplify VM management on an Unraid server? https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/XenServer/GettingStarted
March 25, 201412 yr Just a quick note on this since no one else has responded to you. There are multiple options out there for managing Xen. The "stacks" out there including openstack are much more elaborate than the basic ones out there. That said, there will also be more work involved to get unRAID + Xen to work with them. Not saying it isnt worth it, but there are many differences to each of the offerings out there, and Lime Tech will need to decide which is the best to pursue for support and development. All of that said, questions like this are really good to spark discussion amongst those of us that are in the enterprise virtualization world professionally... Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk
