Falc410
Sorry for asking maybe a stupid question, but either Dynamix WebGUI uses a different terminology or the Wiki is outdated. I can set the SMB security to: Public / Secure / Private Public I get, but what is the difference between Secure and Private? If one is read-only, what is Private then? Because there is a separate option to have it hidden. Also I can set Use Cache Disk to: No / Yes / Only What does Only mean? It also says: share empty - but I'm unable to change that. Is it important? Quote Link to comment
trurl
Public is read/write for everyone. Secure is read for everyone, write for only specified users. Private is read/write for only specified users. Hidden can't be seen when browsing the network, but can be accessed by specifying the path. Cache-only won't be moved from the cache drive. Usually used for storing applications. Share empty just means there are no files or folders on the share. You can make it not empty by putting something in it, or make it empty by removing everything from it. Quote Link to comment

lionelhutz
Here's an overview of the new security model. I don't use security but I believe this is all still valid. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=7047.0 Quote Link to comment
