April 2, 201412 yr I am a complete Noob and have just started playing around with Unraid Server a few days ago - Is there a write up on how to install this?
April 7, 201412 yr I will be waiting for the VDR Plugin, that would be so great. Btw. any idea if waking up for Scheduled recordings is possible on unRaid? My Server does not run 24/7, so that would be important for me.
April 10, 201412 yr Does this follow the standard upgrade process for unraid? I use openelec and have an hd homerun. Ive tinkered around with the tvheadend and got it running but got away from it since I wasnt that impressed with it. I imagine dl and copy bzimage and bzroot (generic openelec dvb drivers) to my flash drive. Id be more than happy to help test with a little direction on the vdr install and config.
April 10, 201412 yr hey thanks for all your work, it has always been appreciated! I recently had some time and upgraded to 6.0 b4 but im having some problems getting either tvheadend or vdr installed. Tvheadend fails to start because of missing dependencies, i got stuck on liburiparser. VDR fails on libpng. I googled to no avail and as a relative noob with linux hit a roadbloack. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated! thank you!
April 10, 201412 yr Author no problem please look at my 2 folders and download what you need tvheadend latest with transcoding x64 (master and stable 3.6 ) https://copy.com/m13hz7bDddWGVXP7 VDR latest x64 https://copy.com/KvY2MbobasT1DaAZ
April 10, 201412 yr Getting somewhere with VDR, installed all your packages but the plugins get installed to /usr/lib64/ but vdr expects them to be /usr/lib/ can they simply be moved? EDIT 1 (also a separate issue - /boot/packages/ are not auto installing after a reboot for some reason?) EDIT 2 my silly mistake used the -L /usr/lib64/vdr parameter to sort that problem, just getting unknown user 'vdr' error now EDIT 3 Got VDR up and running with -u root but as soon as i log into the webgui it crashes . . . vdr: [12127] ERROR (svdrp.c,83): Address already in use - repeated in the log - solved with a clean install and a reboot) Edit 4 I finally gave up, hopefully a plugin will alleviate these problems, i was unable to get vdr to listen to a specified data directory and when i could get it to run the webui would crash as soon as i tried navigating the options. If anyone could give me any pointers for either TVheadend or vdr on unraid 6 it would be much appreciated, im just not familiar enough to sort it out myself
April 10, 201412 yr Author for me and my friends eveything works fine, you must something make wrong i replace vdr-2.1.6 package please download once again and install (VDR user, now shuld be installed in system with package, and you dont must use -u option)
April 10, 201412 yr Is it possible to change the installation to stop vdr creating the hidden install directory on the root of the cache drive and instead create it within /cache/ServerApps/ or similar?
April 10, 201412 yr Author this is hardcoded you can del this directory manual and start vdr with own ... i can make version with some neutral directory ... example /boot/config/plugins/vdr/ (for config files)
April 11, 201412 yr I think that would be a better approach as not everyone is using a cache drive, it would also make it a little easier for people to move the config files to their intended install directory. When (If) i manage to get it running correctly i will make a short write up for anyone else in the same boat as me. once again thank you for your efforts!
May 11, 201412 yr Thanks Piotrasd, I'm running your tvheadend package and trying to get it to work with Plex tvheadend-ng channel, but AAC encoding isn't working. I'm getting the following errors: 2014-05-11 22:24:21.041 libav: The encoder 'aac' is experimental but experimental codecs are not enabled, add '-strict -2' if you want to use it. 2014-05-11 22:24:21.041 transcode: Unable to open aac encoder Can you re-build ffmpeg and enable aac encoding? no problem please look at my 2 folders and download what you need tvheadend latest with transcoding x64 (master and stable 3.6 ) https://copy.com/m13hz7bDddWGVXP7 VDR latest x64 https://copy.com/KvY2MbobasT1DaAZ
September 11, 201411 yr Hey everyone, I did not know about this thread until now. So I decided to post my x64-plg here too, maybe someone can use it. If you have you BZ files you can simply install this plg and it installes tvheadend und offers a configuration page. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17326625/tvheadend-2.0.64bit.plg Thanks to piotrasd for providing the uriparser binary. These plg is mostly for my own machine, if it works for you let me know, but dont blame me if it doesn't (you can also tell me though) when beta9 is out, maybe piotrasd can hook us up with some new MEDIA-BZFiles. Happy TVing
September 13, 201411 yr I'd be in for the v6 beta 9 images if anyone has a chance to post them. Oh... and also some basic documentation on how to get started would be awesome if anyone has a chance... Just got myself a TV Tuner and thought I'd jump on the gravy train...

January 8, 201511 yr Dear piotrasd, Do you think it will be possible to include VDR Mcli Plugin in future? It will be extremely handy for owners of Reel Multimedia Netceiver hardware. The Netceiver is not occupying precious PCI-E slots but is a part from the user's LAN.
January 10, 201511 yr What about support for the original HDHR? On v5 it worked, but looks like no support in the included drivers you attached.
January 12, 201511 yr Author i dont have HDHR and i cant test, but i saw tvheadend now support native without driver in system update: here compiled latest version tvheadend with HDHR and transcoding (tvheadend-20150112-x86_64-1PTr.txz) https://www.sendspace.com/file/q0g7hu Do you think it will be possible to include VDR Mcli Plugin in future? It will be extremely handy for owners of Reel Multimedia Netceiver hardware. The Netceiver is not occupying precious PCI-E slots but is a part from the user's LAN.
