April 4, 201412 yr Has anyone tried passing through a SATA controller in XEN. Before I start rejigging drives to try pass through I thought I should ask. My SATA controller is a 2 port Marvel and would like to run server 2012r2 on the SSD and a WD black drive for Client PC backups. Is this a better way to utilize an SSD's performance and trim functionality? Is it as simple as changing the boot type in the XEN config to be disk first and the path to the Windows ISO for the install? Thanks Will
April 4, 201412 yr You need to make sure tour hardware supports it. The mb and cpu must support vt-d if intel and iommu if amd. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk
April 7, 201412 yr Author My hardware supports pass through and I pass through some NIC's at present. I was more concerned with the installation of the OS on a physical SSD rather than an IMG container.
