Just wanted to say thanks!

2T Drive failed, swapped with a new one and rebuilding, lost no data or access to data! Very happy wanted to say thanks.

Thanks for the positive report on what could have been a very different outcome.

That makes me more confident I'm supporting the correct "raid".

My setup is just like yours, 2T parity and 2X2T data drives but mine are seagate and 16G cruzer I was unsure until today when the drive failed this "raid" actually worked and it was as easy as swap the drive and rebuild the array but it was like magic no data loss no loss of access to data. took 5 hours to rebuild data during which time I still had full access to read data and some data was written but based on the FAQ I held off all my systems from writing until the array was healthy.

I am much more comfortable with my pictures being stored on this system and I use copy.com for cloud backup of crucial data (pics) for off site storage.

Reading this far made me want to remind you that UnRAID (or any other RAID) is NOT a backup !

... but reading the rest of your sentence makes it clear you already understand that  :) :)

As I've often told folks, you don't have to backup all of your data -- only the things you care about and don't want to lose  8)
