Reduce unRAID memory

Featured Replies

By deafult is unRAID assigned 2 GB of RAM in V6?  Can I reduce unRAID to 1 GB as I only have 4 GB total with another 4GB coming by the slow boat from China (literally).

With an onboard video card I will not have 2 GB free to give a Ubuntu VM.  For the time being I can stick with Plex, Transmission and Subsonic on my VM and avoid RAM hungry apps like CrashPlan.

I set a dedicated 1gb and a max of 2gb for dom0 through syslinux. I believe unraid 6 may need more than 1gb during boot only (without memory intensive plugins like cache directories). So it uses more than 1 when it needs, then frees up the rest when it no longer needs it.

With beta 4 there is now no limits on RAM usage applied.
