[RESOLVED, Sort Of] Rosewill RSV-S4-X 4-Bay enclosure - Issues (one see 1 drive)

Featured Replies

This isn't 100% related to my unRAID server, but trying to add as an accessory to "backup" some parts of my unRAID data for safe keeping from my Windows PC's.

I picked up a Rosewill RSV-S4-X  (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132029) several months ago thinking I could add more drives to my Array... I've since decided that was probably a bad idea and was just going to use the unit with 4x 1TB drives (that I since upgraded from my primary array) to have for backups of my most critical data from my unRAID, just in case.

Anyhow, I'm having some challenges getting the enclosure to detect more than 1 drive in the enclosure on a couple different Windows systems.

The first is Win 8.1 Update 1 using the included Sil3132 eSATA card that came with the unit.  During boot-up, and in the Utility, only 1 drive appears and only 1 in Windows Disk Mgmt

The 2nd PC is a Windows 7 SP1 using the onboard eSATA connector from my Asus P5B Deluxe (older MB - http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P5B_Deluxe/), again, only 1 drive showing up during boot and in Windows Disk Mgmt.

There does not appear to be any jumpers or settings otherwise physically on the Rosewill enclosure so not sure exactly where to look next.  I guess possible that I just got a "dud", which I'm sure is well outside of Return policy, but I'd guess still in warranty.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks
