April 18, 201412 yr You can do all of these at once, but there's a notable performance degradation if you run a parity sync and use the array at the same time. As long as the performance of the file reads is acceptable (i.e. if you're streaming a movie it plays okay without any stuttering) it's fine to do it. Just be aware that the parity sync will take longer than if you simply let it run without other activity. A pre-clear is fine -- it has NO impact on UnRAID's performance, since it's only using a single disk that's not part of the array. In fact, you can do several pre-clears at once with no problem. I've often done 3 at once, and used my array as normal at the same time.
