April 18, 201412 yr I've been thinking about getting a Roku to use with Aereo. I am aware that Aereo is in a legal battle and it may not always be around, but I hope so. Anyway, I figure if I'm going to get a Roku I might as well get one that can talk with unRaid. Does anyone have a suggestion on which Roku is best to use with unRaid?

April 18, 201412 yr Thanks. Just what I needed to know. Do you have to use Plex to stream videos? In order to stream straight from unRAID, you have to have something (Plex, MediaBrowser, etc). You cant just point it at a share an play.
April 18, 201412 yr 3 is excellent. That little 'search' thingee they do is worth the price alone! Plex is free...run it on your unRAID as the 'movie server'. If you have a cache drive, put it on there as a 'cache only' share. Your ROKU is managed via a web page on the internet. Log on to that page, register your ROKU, goto 'My channel's and add the 'PLEX' channel and you're all set. (while you're there, add channels for Netflix, AmazonPrime, etc.) Took me longer to type this than it will take you to set it up.
