Unresponsive VM when adding vCPU and Memory

VM:  Windows 8.1 with Media Center

 

Working Config:

 

4 vCPU

4096 MB Memory

 

Non Working Config:

 

8 vCPU

8192 MB Memory

 

It's odd, the VM runs perfectly with the working config, plays back Media Center Live tv, and BluRay playback just fine.  The minute I increase the hose to 8vCPU and 8192MB of memory, it starts running dead slow, and will not play live TV back.
