May 1, 201412 yr For some reason, I didn't now these things existed until I saw it on the Buy/Sell forum. I plan on picking one up for my UNRAID server so I can plug in the USB drive in an unused internal USB port on the motherboard. So just in case there are others who are likewise clueless. Support for USB2 and USB3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=usb%20motherboard&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=50
May 1, 201412 yr have to be careful with those. not sure about the first two but the last one is not keyed. bought the last one once, burned the wireless receiver for my keyboard in half a second. lot's of fireworks and the acrid smell in the room for 3 days. didn't know the 5V could make such a display. lucky the MB and controller where OK.
May 1, 201412 yr i use the 3rd type of dongle in pic and have had no troubles. As long as it's plugged in correctly it'll work perfect. Plug it in the wrong way, and it might not end well.
May 1, 201412 yr now you tell me and I tough I can just snap this thing in any way I like and go ..... :'(
May 1, 201412 yr Author Yeah, plug it in backwards and you cross the red/black wires and power flows the wrong way through your electronics.
May 1, 201412 yr I used this one until I got MB with socket direct on MB, this is keyed and allowed 2 devices to be plugged in. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815201028 Myk
May 1, 201412 yr Yep I have the bottom one as well. I just looked at the wires and read the motherboard PDF to know which way it plugged in.
May 2, 201412 yr I use the third one as well. Gotta RTFM the manual of your motherboard to make sure you don't reverse the ground and 5v side I think. Kryspy
