May 3, 201412 yr I have attached photos of the case I will be using. AFAIK it must be a Norco case under a different brand but I didn't find the exact Norco model on their website; the Norco which comes closest is the RPC-450/470. However, my case doesn't have rear ventilation holes (it also doesn't have ventilation holes on top which the Norco case dosn't have either). So I am wondering how I should organize airflow and fans in this case. There will be 120mm fans in front where the HDDs will be sitting (15 drives using three 5x3 cages, less drives in the beginning using the standard HDD cages). So I would need rear fans pulling out the air. Is the only way to cut out some steel (where the Norco case has it's rear ventilation holes)?
May 4, 201412 yr The photos are of the case you're using? There's space on the rear of your case for x2 80mm fans...
May 4, 201412 yr The Rosewill case does not show the mid wall. Which is wise since without much work, the wall will be circulating air within the case. In order for the mid wall to be functional, the air gap above and below needs to be sealed. If your case does not have the rear ventilation, or any exit, you'll need to make some. The Rosewill, without mid wall, with exit fans gets the heat out.

You wouldn't need to cut, your case already has place for two 80-mm fans on the back wall, it's just that installation holes are masked by the honeycomb pattern. Regarding the airflow.. here is description of fans setup and temperature regime in my Norco 4020: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=32267.msg295082#msg295082 Yours should be much better, since you also have front fans pushing air inside... and less drives
July 8, 201411 yr That is a rosewill case, i have it. It's the RSV-L4000, http://www.rosewill.com/products/2311/ProductDetail_Overview.htm. There are already holes for the 80mm fans to mount in the back. Also the "fan wall" is cleanly removable with 2 screws on each side.
