AT0MAC
I would like to access my server in Mac OSX Mavericks Finder as the root user. But everytime I type in root and my password in the connection window it tells me that Connection Failed. If I try the same with my normal user account it works just fine and fast. What am I doing wrong? root works perfect in the webui and in Telnet sessions, so I know the login is alive. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
For security reasons, root is never allowed smb access. Quote Link to comment
AT0MAC
For security reasons, root is never allowed smb access. Actually makes a lot of sense! Anyway, I was asking because I am getting a headache over installing CouchPotato and Transmission, I can't get them to point to the folders I want them to point to... Thought root access would able me to edit their setting files manually. Thanks for the clarification Quote Link to comment
