How to obtain AMD driver sans CCC? [solved]

Featured Replies

XFX AMD Radeon HD 7750  Ghost  FX-775A-ZNP4 (single slot)

The driver does NOT appear to be listed under http://support.amd.com/en-us/download.

I know we are not supposed to install CCC.

I believe we are not supposed to install autodetect.

How the heck to I go about getting the driver downloaded?

Thanks!

From memory, I think it's an option in the installer to install only the driver. There's an advanced option where you can go in and switch off CCC and other stuff.

I think. Away from desktop right now so can't check.

You can just right click on the GPU in device manager and point it at the relevant directory I think. Tbh, I've never had auto detect not work for me though on Win 8.

Here's another tip you may need later on...

Thank you both - looks like step one is to get the pci pass-through working!

FYI - The autodetect program shows the version driver needed, but throws an error regarding its inability to access the server when I select download.

I messed with the driver download on their site until I found the driver number recommended in the autodetect.

The advanced options under the Catalyst Control install allows you to select the audio and video drivers - I was able to deselect the amd game app, the amd CCC, and amd Video Transcode.
