[solved] question about disks and split level

Featured Replies

my structure looks like this: TV/Show/Season XX/Show.Season.Episode/file.ext

I've been using split level = 2 to keep all the seasons on the same disk. it was working fine for me for a while, until i had 1 disk with, i'm assuming, too many concurrent shows running so it filled up. New shows i've added have been going to another disk as designed.

i'm manually moving stuff with mc.. but just wanted to verify a couple of things:

[*]if i move an active season to another disk with mc, new episodes will go to the new disk right?

[*]and, i read somewhere that split level takes priority over allocation method. so the seasons will always be together? it will let the drive fill up completely (and eventually stop adding to any disks completely, i.e. stay on cache drive) before adding the same Season XX folder to another drive? so it wouldn't make sense to have too many continuing shows on the same disk.. ideally would be some ended and some continuing to keep 1 disk from getting hammered

Yes, everything you posted is correct. It sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on the split level setup.

Go to split level 3 if you don't want to have to move season files manually if you fill a disk.
