May 17, 201412 yr 2TB drive red balled on me. Tried to replace with 3TB. Error: If this is a new array, move the largest disk into the parity slot. If you are adding a new disk or replacing a disabled disk, try Parity-Swap. Can this be done?
May 17, 201412 yr Author Searched forums, solved. Unassigned Parity, Assigned new 3TB in its place. Assigned Old 2TB Parity drive to Disk 1 (previously failed) slot. Was presented with the option to Copy/Upgrade, doing this now. Smooth.
May 17, 201412 yr It is called parity swap disable. I have not heard of anyone doing this successfully in a while. Please report results. There is an alternate method but it requires a second drive of the max size.
