I am trying to add drive number 11 to my unRAID server. The drive is not being recognized.  Never had this issue and I suspect that I've finally overtaxed my power supply (Enermax Liberty 400W, 360 W on 12V. The CPU and mother board are the original board Tom sold although I've added SATA PCI cards.

 

Is there anything different when adding a drive once you go past #10?  If not I'll check my cabling and if that doesn't work I will look for a second or larger power supply to add to my setup.

Although 400W does sound a bit light for that many drives (depends on the brand/model drive - WD GP Drives use 1/2 the power of others), I doubt this is your problem.  If there wasn't enough power, it seems very unlikely that it would pick your newest drive to underpower on a consistent basis.  More likely the system would just power itself down shortly after powering it on.

 

I would check out the cabling and make sure that the drive is plugged into power.  You should search for your motherboard using Google to see if others are having problems with >10 drives.  You could also try plugging into a different port.
