Moving from one USB to another config

Featured Replies

I am moving from my v5.0.4 USB to another USB containing v6.  What config files do I need to copy over to have the same disk, network, share...ect config except plugins on the new USB?

Just a check - are you using the free version of unRAID?    I am asking because for the paid versions the license key is tied to the particular USB drive it was purchased for.

I have 2 pro usb's and I want to keep the one with v5 on it untouched, while v6 is in beta, so I can easily go back if I need to.

OK.  I understand as I bought an additional Pro key for myself (using the special $30 offer) for just this reason.

I basically set up the v6 USB drive as though I was setting up a new system and then copied across the config folder omitting any plugins.  Make sure you do not overwrite your key file with the one from the other drive.

I have found that the beta is stable enough on my hardware for me to make it my new default, and I no longer have the need to go back to v5.  The old USB drive is now set up as my backup of my v6 system.
