Seagate 5TB External HDD $189.99

HERE IS A REVIEW of what's likely inside. 5 platter 7200 RPM screamer it seems. (see c3's post - looks like the same drive as the 5900RPM 4T with one more platter)

Does anyone have one of these and can share experiences? Anyone who buys is encouraged to share experiences.

I am nervous running these sweatbox USB enclosures with no fans. But the long warranty is encouraging (of course the warranty is gone once you crack it open, but at lease it expresses manufacturer confidence in their product).

Seagate's 5900 RPM 4T drive is good, hope this one is too. Seagate seems to be the one whose R&D is doing the best work, and hope their improved reliability at 4T is not a fluke

I would definitely be nervous running this in the USB enclosure given the high heat potential. But the long warranty is encouraging.

It is unlikely to be the DX. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=67753040&postcount=188
