With constant rumblings about ReisereFS removal from the likes of Ubuntu (although 14.04 has support) how much longer is it a viable FS?  With VMs needing to be able to network share with unRAID shares.

 

Is there a path to upgrade to something like BTRFS or such without too much chaos?  I assume since there is no non-destructive way to upgrade Re0serFS --> EXT 4 that the same holds true for BTRFS?

 

Just some thought.
