Parity is blue...?

Featured Replies

I'm new and finally built my server...

I installed my drives first into the unRAID array (w/o parity) and moved all my data over.  I then installed a parity drive and set it as a device in my unRAID control panel.  When I restarted the array, the parity was blue.  Thinking it would take time to create the parity data, I waited until this morning (about 8 hours after restarting the array) and parity was still blue and all drives were spun-down.

What do I have to do to get my parity drive online and synced with my other hard drives?  Thanks.

You need to start the array.  Make sure that the parity disk is correct.  If a data disk is accidently in the parity slot, its contents will be lost.

I did start the array...(at least I thought I did).  I can check tonight.  I'm certain that the new parity disk is correct.

In the interim, any other thoughts?

A disk won't be blue if the array is started.

Odd....I just logged into my server and it was started.  However, I stopped and then started the server again and parity sync kicked off.  The status is now orange.  Thanks!
