How to revert PLEX plugin (or how to try new versions safely) ??

I'd like to try a newer version of PLEX, but really want to ensure my ability to revert to my current version in case of difficulty.

 

Are there any configuration files that I should back-up (in addition to the .txz file)  ??

Any chance of the new version doing something irreversible to my current install?

    You just need to back up your plex application directory, the one you have installed on your cache/app drive. Switching between versions of Plex is then as easy as replacing the plex .txz file and restarting your server.
