Hi, another newb Q.  How do I automatically logon to mapped network drives (shares) from Vista?

Do I need to create a batch file in the startup folder with my credentials that will automatically connect to my shares?  Thanks.

If you create userids in unRAID that are the same as the Windows userids with the same passwords, authentication should be automatic.

If your userid in Windows has special characters that are not allowed in unRAID (like spaces), look at this post, in particular the "usermap" capability.  I use that and it works great.

You should be able to map the drive letters and indicate that they should reconnect at logon.

Added to the FAQ (link back only), here.  Feel free to edit.

I added a new Windows section to the FAQ for this question, and a Mac section, empty so far.  There are a number of questions scattered throughout the forums that should be added to these sections.  It will probably be important to always indicate what OS versions each question applies to.
