June 7, 201412 yr I'm having a problem upgrading one of my servers to unraid 5 final, tried 5.0.5 first, got a lot of errors on boot and couldn't even telnet to the server, next tried 5.0 final, got similar errors but could at least telnet to the server to get the log. It seams to be having a problem with some disks, i have 4 disks on onboard sata (ICH7R i think) and 4 disk on AOC-SAT2-MV8. Board Intel S3000AHLX with Celeron E1200 and 2Gb DDR2 667Mhz 1 x AOC-SAT2-MV8 6 X WD20EZRX 2 X WD15EARX Syslog attached syslog.txt

June 8, 201412 yr Syslinux process was changed in the released version at some point so now it points to a different location. Make sure to copy over the syslinux folder along with the standard 3 files (bzimage, syslinux and the other). If that doesn't try running the makeboot again.
June 8, 201412 yr Author Although slower the server completes the boot and I can telnet to it so I don't think it's that. I suspect the Aoc-sat2-mv8, anyone using one with 5.0 final or newer?
June 8, 201412 yr I have two SAT2-MV8's in my first 6b5a Xen server. Working fine. SuperMicro X7SBE Q9550s 8GB ECC 2 Intel nics and 1 IPMI Nic. WHS2011 VM with 2 vcpus. One nic allocated to unRAID, one to WHS2011 vm on pass through and one to IPMI.
June 8, 201412 yr Author I didn't try b6 because of lack of dynamix support, only 5.0 and 5.0.5, but in my case it's definitely the sat2-mv8, swaped it with a sas-mv8 from another server and it's working with 5.0.5. It's a shame because the sat2-mv8 was enough for now, guess I'll have to replace it with a sas-mv8.
June 8, 201412 yr When I had ESXi on my X7SBE I had an unRAID VM with 2 SAT2-MV8s on pass through. And a Windows VM with SASLP-MV8 at first but it was having problems so switched to M1015 but didn't solve my problems so upgraded MB to X9SCM and solved all my problems. The unRAID VM on the X7SBE had no problems at all just the Windows VM had to be rebooted every 1 to 2 weeks or it would lock up. The unRAID VM just went chugging along and I probably could have had an up time of a year if it wasn't for the Windows VM.
