BIN folder, why does it (still) exist and get used?

Featured Replies

Before beta6, I had been using Dynamix plugins, and one of them (or perhaps from SimpleFeatures) was on that 'installed' a recycle bin for unRAID.  This puts deleted files into a folder called BIN.

I've not ran this plugin for a long time, and do not have it anywhere on my flash drive (or even on my array), and have restarted unRAID dozens of times since the last time I had this plugin removed.

However, I still have a BIN folder showing up on unRAID, and it's contents keep changing, so something is keeping it active and updated, but I cannot figure out what it could be, or how to eliminate it.

I actually don't necessarily mind the recycle bin, but my 500GB cache drive only has 150GB of free space, and the mover doesn't seem to be working. (not sure this is related).

Anyway, how do I turn off the recycle bin functionality?

I don't use this but see here. Maybe it's in your smb-extra.conf file.

Thanks.  I do have all that in my smb-extra.conf file.  I only have the stuff related to the recycle plugin, so I just renamed the .conf file, and will reboot and see if it gets created again (I'm sure it won't).
