Support for more than 16 drives

Featured Replies

Will UnRaid ever be able to support more than 16 drives.....?  With these cool 3x2 or 6x4 SATA trays my older Cooler Master tower could actually hold 18+ drives.

When and how many.....?

Don't know, don't know.

Tom has hinted at increasing the number. I think if there was a large demand it would impact the timing. Tom has been gradually increasing the limits over time.

erm... ok

after all we are only 9 years in 21st century

Ill put my vote in the corner of more drives.

If you are full and want to add more drives, I would post the request in feature requests explaining that your array is full but you still have room in your case and add'l available ports to add more drives..  If there are several "me toos", you might see some movement in the next version or two.  But if you are just saying you think he should have more capacity, but you have not exhausted the capacity that is there, my guess is that you'll not get it as quickly.

the simple answer is yes. Limetech has said it will support more drives in later releases. Timescales no available at this time.
