June 17, 201412 yr I have unRAID 5.0.5 running on ESXi 5.5 update 1 along with a Windows 8.1 VM. When I try to connect to unRAID using \\unraid (changed from tower) I get error code 0x80070035 the network path was not found. But if I use the ip address \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx I can access it just fine in Windows explorer. But when I use XBMC witch is installed on the Windows VM it doesn't work. On my main computer I can access unRAID using \\unraid and \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx but I can not access it using either method in XBMC (smb:\\unraid\movies and smb:\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). What I am trying to do is set up a synced xbmc library for all my HTPCs using the Windows 8 VM as the server.
June 18, 201412 yr Author can you ping it by ip from the vm? I will try when I get home but I can access it using the ip address so I don't know what this will gain me. If I couldn't trying to ping it would make more sense. [solved] The issue seemed to have solved itself. I did absolutely nothing not even restarting either VM, I came home and was able to go to \\unraid no problem
