June 18, 201412 yr So i had Plex, SABnzb, and Sickbeard running optimally before I went to bed. I have the most of the directories set on the cache drive, the install folder is set to the usb drive. When I went to bed it was running just fine, I woke up to fine the mover script had went into my cache folders and dragged various bits of data away. So in the morning almost everything was broken and was just a big mess. I can't seem to figure out how to create sub folders, or find any infromation on how cache drive uses folder structure. So I have it setup this way: mnt/cache/Applications/Library/ --> Plex created another folder in here for itself mnt/cache/Applications/sick mnt/cache/Applications/sabnzb I create the Application folder from the share settings in unraid, and set it to cache. What did I do wrong? Running: unraid 5.0.5
June 18, 201412 yr I create the Application folder from the share settings in unraid, and set it to cache. Did you set it to Use Cache: Yes? Or did you set it to Use Cache: Only? It must be set to Only or mover will move it.
June 18, 201412 yr Author Yes the only was only set to "yes", I have changed it to "only" that should be safe now if I redo the application setups now? Also my last question is I add the cache drive to the wrong area and it got assigned to disc 3, before I moved it to the cache drive, and had it formatted. Now disc 3 shows as red, as I only have 3 disc's and a cache drive. How do I remove that non-existent drive?
June 18, 201412 yr Maybe a screen shot would help clarify. Do you have parity, 2 data disks, and a drive that was originally assigned as a third data disk but now has been re-assigned as cache? And now disk3 is showing as missing?
June 18, 201412 yr Author yes to that last sentence "parity, 2 data disks, and a drive that was originally assigned as a third data disk but now has been re-assigned as cache"
June 18, 201412 yr yes to that last sentence "parity, 2 data disks, and a drive that was originally assigned as a third data disk but now has been re-assigned as cache" There is currently no standard way to reduce the number of drives that are configured while leaving other drives assigned. The way to achieve this is to use the 'new config' option from the Utilities tab of the GUI and then re-assign the drives as you want them. unRAID will realise they already contain data and leave that intact. Make sure you have made a note of the serial numbers of the drives in their various position to avoid errors.

Keep in mind that while disk3 is red, and doesn't physically have a drive installed, IT CAN STILL HOLD DATA, AND THAT DATA WILL BE GONE FOREVER IF YOU USE THE NEW CONFIG OPTION. Be sure to browse the disk3 contents and be sure that there is no data on it that you want to keep.
June 18, 201412 yr Author disc 3 has zero data. I just start using unraid, only my two new drives are getting any data
June 18, 201412 yr disc 3 has zero data. I just start using unraid, only my two new drives are getting any data Cool. Just wanted you to be sure before you lost data. Disk 3 could easily get data written to it if you copy stuff to a user share instead of sending it to a specific disk.
June 18, 201412 yr Author Yes thanks for the head up, I'm going to make the changes tonight hopefully it goes well. My biggest concern is rebuilding plex, figuring out that permission issue, and getting the drives back in order. The plex issue may not even be one, I can save most settings. However when I go to save the automatic scan in the settings, it says it can't save those settings.
June 19, 201412 yr Author Just wanted to let everyone that help me know. That thanks for all the fixes. I was able to correctly apply a new new config to my array, redid permissions, repaired the cache folder permission. Plex is now up and running able to save settings and is good on reboots. Sabnzb is setup, running correctly at full speed, and is good on reboots. Sickbeard is configured to deploy tv shows to sabnzb, and is good on reboots. Every is running great, all the data is moving where it should. Also I'm getting a nice 40/MB sec to 50/MB sec from my htpc to the Zeus server using tera copy to move my data to it. Thanks all
