February 17, 200917 yr I would think you would just go into the Web GUI and that there would be a way to delete it (do the reverse of adding it!) It might be necessary that you go to each of the drives (e.g., //tower/disk1) that are part of the share and remove / rename the directories to get the share to completely go away. Maybe someone that uses user shares will confirm / supplement these instructions.
February 17, 200917 yr i am trying to delete on of the shares that i made. i made a separate share for downloading torrents, but i decided to use a drive on my mac pro instead. how do i delete the share from my unRaid system? christopher I've never tried this procedure, but from my understanding, the steps would be: 1. delete/rename folders in all the disks with the name of the share you wish to remove. 2. stop the array 3. go into the config/shares folder on your flash drive and delete the config file for the share you wish to delete (via telnet - rm /boot/config/shares/SHARENAME.cfg, or via network - \\SERVERNAME\flash\config\shares\SHARENAME.cfg) 4. restart the array, the share should now be gone.. if not, it is because you missed renaming/deleting a folder on one of the disks. Hope this helps, and good luck. Matt
February 19, 200917 yr Added to the FAQ (link back only), here. Feel free to edit. Would be good if someone can verify that this procedure works correctly. ( Would be even better if a 'Remove User Share' feature was added to the Shares tab of the Web Management pages! ) Edit: although the procedure does work, it is not necessary. Just ensure the User Share is empty, and clear the Share name field on the User Shares tab of the Web Management pages, and click the Apply button. See this post.
February 19, 200917 yr Ignore me if I'm wrong but if the folder is empty (I presume so as you are no longer using it for torrents) you can just delete the share name (clear the text box) and click apply. This will remove the share.

February 27, 200917 yr Author thank you for the responses. i have just tried it myself by deleting all the information in the user share, then deleting the share folder from each drive that it was on. then i just cleared the name from the share window and hit apply. it worked just like i had hoped. i guess i should have tried a little harder before asking questions, but now other people will know how it is done. thanks for all the help chris
