February 17, 200917 yr The date and time setting setting doesn't seem to be able to keep itself correct. I'd think it was the clock on my mobo except I have two unraid boxes and they both exhibit he same behavior. If you enable the NTP server, set the right zone from GMT, and click "apply" it sets the correct date and time, but invariably by the next day the time is off by a factor of hours or even days, as in it gets really confused by time zone. This is relatively harmless but somewhat annoying from the standpoint of the date of the last parity check, among other things. Any way to fix this?
February 17, 200917 yr Take a look here for custom timezone files. Also look on the Wiki here for instructions on using it. I just recently started using the customer timezone file along with NTP and the Date and Time setting have been MUCH better.
February 17, 200917 yr Author Thanks! This problem extends way beyond DST, but I'll give this a try and see if it helps. Appreciate the reply.
February 17, 200917 yr Thanks! This problem extends way beyond DST, but I'll give this a try and see if it helps. Appreciate the reply. Yup, so did mine. I only noticed one day because the server was doing a parity check. I only have the server set to do a parity check on Monday morning at 1am, and this was doing a check at like 2pm on Saturday. I did some searching on NTP and the custom timezone files. I set the timezone file up, set the Date and time by hand, and then set it to use NTP. Since then everything seems to be good.
