[PhAzE] Plugin - Basic Self Help Thread

Any chance you can redo this btsync plugin? I can't seem to get it to work and you actively maintain your plugins

I would also like to see a PhAze btsync plugin for ver 6, but I have used btsync without a plugin. Since unRAID version 5.0 I have had it installed and manually stopping and starting it whenever necessary. I simply installed btsync in one of my preferred folders, /mnt/user/apps/btsync (your install location may be different), and from the command line I simply type /mnt/user/apps/btysnc/btsync , wait a few minutes for btsync to index files and access the btsync webgui via port 8888 (tower:8888. your subnet or unraid server may be named differently).

which download do you use?

I download the Linux x64 version.

Awesome job on btsync thanks. Your version webgui actually works! The only issue I'm having is I can't seem to set my listening port. No matter what I do it gives me a random number and if I change it to match my firewall rule I don't see any way to save it. Any ideas?

I was having that problem to, even when I set it manually in the config it just picked a random one. I'll have a look.

I noticed it does that when setting upload and download limits too.

Just saw the updated one with it in the plugin gui. Thanks! As soon as I get back on my computer I will hit up the donate link ????

Any plans on tackling the outdated apcupsd plugin? The current one sucks lol.

There is a current apcupsd for V6 here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=34994.0

Is this the one that you think is outdated and sucks?

No I'm still on 5 until 6 comes out of beta.

I can't get the application to run.

When I install it, it runs and it shows "Running" but as soon as I refresh to page and/or try to load Tower:8989 it say it is not running.

I will attach log file..as I have about given up. (I did look at the first post but I couldn't determine a problem)

I tried all the solutions and confirmed them except Solution 2..i couldn't figure out how to see if there was some dependency issue.    (I only have unmenu and SAB / Sickbeard/ CP on my unraid)

I have installed on my flash/cache and config on a mounted disc.  When I click apply on settings it always shows as running, but then it actually is not running.  Some error about PID.

First, make sure gcc is not set to reinstall on the unmenu extra packages gui.  Then delete everything in your packages folder and reboot.

In unmenu there is nothin glisted under pk management.  I deleted all packages in the packages folder..rebooted..still same thing happening.

I am thinking I might just switch my unraid to Windows for ease of use ..but that's a big process too to convert...so..  :'(

Uninstall unmenu, see if it works, then decide if you really need unmenu.

I will try that, I never us unmenu.

I am really thinking I might switch to a Windows box though just for ease of use.  My wife likes to be able to do stuff sometimes and if it isn't Windows, she is lost.

Hi Phaze

I am currently getting this error when I click the apply button:

cp: cannot stat '/tmp/plexinstalltmp/plexmediaserver/.': No such file or directory

Any advice?

Thanks!

What version of unraid? Has Plex installed or does the plugin say "not installed" still?

Try deleting the plexmediaserver...deb from your packages folder and install again.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I am using Unraid 6, it still says not installed, and I have tried removing and adding several times with no luck :(

Any other ideas?

Two possibilities:

1.  You downloaded a corrupt .deb file and it's sitting on your USB/packages folder but can't be extracted.  The plugin won't redownload the file since it sees it sitting on the usb stick.  To fix this, delete the .deb from that packages folder.  Plex unfortunately has a terrible hosting service that often has corrupted downloads, and they do not supply an MD5 for my plugin to verify the downloads against.

2. The .deb may be fine, but you are unable to extract it.  A program called "AR" is used to extract deb files on unraid, but if you also have a package called GCC installed, it breaks the AR program, thus making unraid unable to extract the contents of the deb file.  To fix this possible issue, look in your extras (if you have this folder) and packages folders and remove any packages starting with GCC-.... then reboot.

I'm hoping one day that plex starts hosting the md5 or sha1 hases for their downloads, because 90% of the problems I see with plex turns out to be a bad download.

Thanks man, I dont have any GCC files (I did follow your basic install issues), and I have re-downloaded several times, but will try again. Where is the tmp folder that it is looking for meant to be?

Sorry to be such a n00b.

That error is just saying it tried to copy the extracted files but the files didn't exist to copy.

Once Plex makes their current release available to the masses I'll be changing the plugin to use different files hopefully hopefully this issue.

I've got a problem with Plex (plugin version 1.5.3) Installed on Unraid 6beta10a.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this - or if i should be posting on the plex forum.

I've successfully installed the plugin, and it starts correctly. I can add my media via the web interface, and everything works great. However, although the plugin reinstalls and runs on reboot the userdata doesn't remember the media that I've added and I'm presented with the user agreement after reboot. I've tried stopping and restarting the plugin and data does persist there - so this is something to do with rebooting the machine.

Have i missed something obvious? Help would be awesome.

Yes, the library directory in the plugin settings page should be set to your cache drive or one of your array drives. By default it installs the library to a folder that is basically reset after each reboot.

Thanks for the help you've pointed me in the right direction.

I'd had it installed onto an SSD mounted with SNAP - but there was obviously something I'd configured wrong. I'm now running it cache only and userdata persists.

Huge thanks for the quick response.

I seem to have problems installing the Plex Media Server 64-bit after upgrading to unRAID 6.

When I was running 5.0.6 the 32-bit of Plex was working great. After upgrading to v.6 beta 10a and installing Plex from the beginning I can't get it to work.

I deleted my old config & temp directory on the disk and used the same settings with empty folders.

Install directory: /usr/local/plexmediaserver

Config/Library: /mnt/cache/apps/plexmediaserver/config

Transcode directory: /mnt/cache/apps/plexmediaserver/tmp/plex

When I try to install the plugin through PhAzE's plugin interface I get the following message:

Installing the latest version of Plex Media Server...

Testing integrity of install file

Integrity of PlexMediaserver-0.9.11.1.678-c48ffd2-x64-UnRAID.txz looks good

failed to extend '/usr/local/plexmediaserver/./libminiupnpc.so.10' : No space left on device

...Install OK

But at this stage the Plex Server gives me the option to start it in the Plugin GUI, but when I try I get the following message:

PID not created, application did not start for some reason... Start failed

Any ideas?

I'm having some problems installing the plugin and could use some help. I'm using version 5.0 of Unraid and when I'm in the webgui and hit install it gives me this message "Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/plexmediaserver.cfg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/plexmediaserver/plexmediaserver.php on line 22"

I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff so I apologize in advance.

Thanks

its saying that your config file was not located on the USB stick. I recommend just installing the plugin again. Download from the first post on my other thread in this plugin section, drop it into /boot/config/plugins/ folder and reboot.

FYI /boot is the USB stick.

NEVER MIND.  DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL WORKED AFTER WAITING A WHILE.

Running UR 5.0.6 and trying to install 1.5.4 32bit PMS.  I am having trouble getting PMS to install from the Settings PMS GUI.  When I click on install, I receive the following on the GUI screen:

/etc/rc.d/rc.plexmediaserver install

Installing latest version of Plex Media Server...

Downloading install file to package folder

Failed to download Plex install file. Aborting installation.

I get this on the server screen:

/boot/packages/PlexMediaServer-0.9.11.7.803-87d0708-unRAID.txz: No such file or directory

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • 5 weeks later...

I've been running PMS for a while. I noticed that there is an update available on the plugin page:

Installed Version: 0.9.11.7.803-87d0708?

Update to Version: 0.9.11.12.869-ab1cd47

Clicking the update  button does not do anything. I have tried stopping PMS first, tried just pressing the button, but nothing ever seems to happen. No error message is displayed. Am I doing something wrong??
