What format is everyone using now for blu-ray rips?

Featured Replies

I was wondering what format everyone is using now for blu ray rips?

I use MakeMKV to put the in a uncompressed MKV file.

Same here

Iso is still my preferred style. That way I can have the raw data for conversion if needed and also one file for simplicity.

MakeMKV with only the DTS or AC3 audio track, then run it through Handbrake with a RF:22 quality setting (keeping the audio untouched unless it's going onto a mobile device, then that's a separate encode to 720/Stereo).

MakeMKV to rip and extract just the needed video, audio and subtitles.  MKVmerge to clean up if I forgot to remove anything.  Including a few shorts and episodes from boxed sets, I get about 100 blu-ray rips per terabyte.

I don't rip nor re-encode the bluray's, i leave them as is, a 1:1 copy. Either in iso or as a bdmv structure.

Same as I but can't use it in plex(BD), looking to convert to MKV with makemkvcon  on unraid.
