Yes - this is sort of the point. It may have an impact on the performance of your server, especially at peak usage,  For that reason some people prefer to do the preclears on a test server or unused workstation (which can boot unRaid using the free license and do the preclears and then returned to is normal use). After the preclear is done, adding the precleared drive(s) to the unRaid server is fast.

Cheers guys just setup another system with a non paid version of unraid to do the job. Lol our unraid server is always at work downloading torrents and streaming so i didn't wanna risk anything. It's one machine that really can't have any down time, just a shame i didn't preclear my wd with -A though its only a cache drive being written to over wifi n.  Just did a post in the preclear feed back thread about benchmarks i found, seems we are not losing alot with the raiserfs anyhow being at sector 63 and 512. Great to see it's not going to hurt anything anyhow. The wd green was just stopped and i restarted with -A for a 64 4k align :)
