July 15, 201411 yr So, during the upgrade to 6, one of my shares suddenly had the cache set to be included. I changed it to not include the cache drive, but it hasn't worked. The "orange" ball is still there. I took everything inside the "movies" share and moved it to another share. Then, that share turned orange too. The "movies" share (and the share I moved everything to) show up in the cache drive folder structure now. Any ideas on how I can remove the cache from being used by any of the other shares? Thanks.
July 15, 201411 yr I think this is an issue if you have the same share name on the cache drive as on your array drives (i.e. movies). I know there were issues recently where files that were only supposed to be cache-only were getting copied to the array because the same folder/share name existed. If you move everything from your movies share to your data disks, and delete the movies folder on the cache drive, then when you set a share to not use the cache it should hopefully stick.
July 15, 201411 yr Author OK. I moved everything from the cache drive to individual disks, instead of letting it go through "user". Now, everything seems to be OK. Thanks so much for the help. Normally, I can figure it out on my own searching in here. Last night, I was so tired and frustrated last night that I gave in and asked for help. Four years I have had this thing now and sitting at 42TB. When something goes wrong, I start to get a little panicky now. We've had our ups and downs in our relationship. Thanks, again.

Glad it worked out for you.
