July 16, 201411 yr Could you elaborate a little more? You moved flash drive and the hard drives on to a new hardware? Is the motherboard setup to boot from usb, or is it even possible with the mobo you're using?
July 16, 201411 yr Author I am in the middle of building a new Unraid server. I got all of the hardware in and I wanted to boot to Unraid. For testing, I pulled an unraid flash drive from a laptop I was using to pre-clear. So the flashdrive is formatted properly to boot. But that same flashdrive will not boot on my new machine (a used supermicro 933/h8dae). I am just wondering if its common for a flash drive to work on one machine and no on another.
July 16, 201411 yr Have you checked from bios that the flash drive is the boot device? Sometimes even with the same hardware if the drives are switched the bios does not automatically use the flash for boot.
July 16, 201411 yr Author I am pretty sure it is. I am going to pull the other drives just to make sure.
