jordan
Is anyone booting off of a USB PCI card, especially someone using a Gigbyte EP-35SD Motherboard? It's looking like my USB controller (I presume) has gone toes up on my server. I'm about to switch from this old server to a new one, so I'd rather not buy a whole new motherboard just to get the data off my old system. I tried an old (ooooold) USB+FW card I had lying around but it didn't boot. Anyone know of a board that seems to "play nice" with USB booting? Link to comment
trurl
Do you mean you are going to have a new unRAID server? If so, why not just move the disks from the old server to the new one? Link to comment
garycase
If you just need the data off the drives, all you need to do is connect them to a PC (via a USB bridge or directly to ports on the PC) and use the free LinuxReader to read the data. http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/ Link to comment
