July 22, 201411 yr I have a new MB with two lan ports. One is a Realtek and the other is an Intel 1218-v. The Intel lan port is not working. Does unRaid support this lan chip? I really don't want to return this MB, and would rather try to get it working.
July 25, 201411 yr I218V works with the latest Beta.. I am using it now as I bought the wrong motherboard.
July 25, 201411 yr I think unRAID only uses one unless you turn on bonding, and you may have to force it to use the one you want by disabling the other in BIOS. I've never had two myself.
July 25, 201411 yr Look in the syslog and see if both network interfaces are being detected and a driver is being loaded for them (or post the syslog). unRAID 5 will not bring up more than one interface by default. Not sure how 6 works as I have not tried it. You can bring up the second interface in 5 with a simple command that can be put in our go file, but you need to check to see if the interface is being detected and a driver is loading first. Out of curiosity, what are you wanting to use the second interface for?
July 27, 201411 yr Author Guys, thanks for the feedback. I have been busy for a few days and just noticed these replies. I have since learned that ver. 6 supports the Intel lan chip. I about to move up to this version and hopefully will verify this. Out of curiosity, what are you wanting to use the second interface for? I want to use WOL which is not supported by the on board Realteck lan chip. Also. reviews indicate the Intel chip is superior to Realteck Thanks again
