July 24, 201411 yr I posted not too long ago about an issue where I noticed that if I left my PMS on overnight the majority of my metadata would be gone or my libraries could be missing altogether and I'd have to rebuild them. The actual media data was fine but Plex seemed to have the issue. Yesterday I noticed after I ran a parity overnight with PMS turned off, I ran into the same issue. Now I'm starting to think that the issue my lye with Unraid running for extended periods of time. I also noticed that after the parity check was done the web GUI became unresponsive. Once I rebooted the server from the actual box, Unraid was fine, but it did raise a couple red flags with me. Has anyone else seen behavior like this before? Thank you for your time.
July 24, 201411 yr Are you installing Plex to the cache drive, and if so, do you have the share it is using set to Cache-Only? Sounds like what happens when mover moves your app off the cache drive and into the array.
July 24, 201411 yr Author No, I believe plex is installed on my flash, then does the normal re-installation after each restart. However my library and Temp directory are both located on the cache drive. Could that be my issue? If so where would you recommend to locate those directories? ALso, would this cause the gui issue when running unraid for a day or two?
July 24, 201411 yr Are the library and temp directories cache only shares, or hidden from mover by starting with a period? Sent from a mobile device, sorry for any typos.
July 25, 201411 yr Do you have a cache drive? Yes or No What do you have the library and temp directory set to on the Plex plugin page?
September 5, 201411 yr That I am not sure of, what should I prefer? Cache only shares and a folder names starting with a period (on the cache drive) both serve the purpose of preventing the mover script from migrating the data. The primary difference between these options is that folders starting with a period are considered hidden whereas cache only shares are not.
