July 31, 201411 yr Hello my current system is a 32 bit and I would like to move the entire array over to my new machine which is 64 bit capable, Im wondering what the best way to proceed with this is? I read somewhere that unlike the previous verisons unraid doesnt care which sata port I connect the drives to as it uses the drives unique id. So can I just follow the instructions to upgrade my USB to 6.0 and then move the drives over to the new server boot up and assign the drives back correctly? Thanks.
July 31, 201411 yr You do noy mention what version of unRAID you are currently running. v5 and v6 work off disk serial number and do not care about ports. Earlier versions do care about ports.

If you follow the instructions to upgrade to v6 (regardless of which version you're on now), then after the upgrade you can freely move everything to a new server and simply boot to your USB flash drive ... you won't need to assign anything at that point - it will simply work
July 31, 201411 yr Author I am currently on the latest V5 release. Thanks for the quick responses appreciate it, seems like such a (relatively) hassle free process compared to when I first started using Unraid. Ive been in a set it and forget it mode with my unraid server the last year or so as its just worked. Can't wait to try out v6 as I have some time on my hands.
