August 7, 201411 yr I have been messing around with unRAID 6b6 being virtualized under Linux Mint. I have been having issues the last couple of days with disk errors like below Aug 6 22:13:13 Pithos shfs/user: shfs_readdir: readdir_r: /mnt/disk2/MEDIA/MOVIES - HD/From Hell (2001) (13) Permission denied Aug 6 22:13:13 Pithos kernel: REISERFS warning: reiserfs-5090 is_tree_node: node level 0 does not match to the expected one 1 Aug 6 22:13:13 Pithos kernel: REISERFS error (device md2): vs-5150 search_by_key: invalid format found in block 243207457. Fsck? Aug 6 22:13:13 Pithos kernel: REISERFS error (device md2): vs-13070 reiserfs_read_locked_inode: i/o failure occurred trying to find stat data of [65 2084 0x0 SD] Yesterday I ran reiserfsck --check on all three of my data drives and on my cache drive. One data drive had errors and told me to fix with the --fix-fixable switch and it went successfully and the cache drive had errors and told me to fix with the --rebuild-tree switch. The other two hard drives did not report errors. Aft wards I ran the --check switch on both drives and they reported good. I then did a correcting parity check over night. This morning I was reading the syslog and now another data drive is reporting the same error as above. I ran reiserfsck --check and it told me to use the --rebuild-tree switch. So I ran reiserfsck and it failed with the message below. I feel it is safe to assume that I am getting these errors because something is setup wrong with my virtualized unRAID. I currently am giving unRAID 2048 MB of RAM which I figured would be enough but from the error below it would seem that unRAID wants more memory? My other thought was that maybe because unRAID loads up KVM by default it is causing issues having a virtualized hypervisor? has anyone else seen these reiserfs warnings? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I do have backups of all my critical data so if my unRAID server is trashed I can rebuild it (hopefully I don't though ) Pass 1 (will try to insert 121527 leaves): ####### Pass 1 ####### Looking for allocable blocks .. finished 0% left 121525, 2 /sec The problem has occurred looks like a hardware problem (perhaps memory). Send us the bug report only if the second run dies at the same place with the same block number. build_the_tree: Nothing but leaves are expected. August 9, 201411 yr Author FYI, I put unRAID back to bare metal and ran a reiserfsck --rebuild-tree and all errors have been fixed. I think I am just going to keep unRAID as dom0 from now on.
